On Sunday, in Relief Society we talked about setting and achieving goals. The instructor gave a suggestion I had not ever thought of before. She said choose a word or two as your goal. Her example was 'be present'. When playing with her children or visiting with her husband, she wants to focus on the moment and not on what else she needs to do or say. I had started to put together a list of goals that I wanted to work on during 2015, but I thought this idea was a nice way to wrap it into a complete whole. I have chosen 'to love' as my goal or theme of the year.
-To love myself better. I want to take better care of myself which includes not only exercising and eating veggies, but taking the time to put on more makeup then mascara more often or enlarging my wardrobe to more then just tee shirts and jeans. I finally feel like I don't need to impress anyone with my appearance, but I am ready to figure out how to take care of myself for myself.
-To love my husband more deeply and fully. I want to look for ways to strengthen our relationship especially as bigger changes start to move our way.
-To love my Heavenly Father more by being more willing to accept His will and keep His commandments.
- To love my family and friends. I want to deepen the relationships I already have more then just a comment on Facebook.
-To love the profession that choose me. I need to find ways to remember why I love veterinary medicine especially on extra busy days or difficult days.
-To love my life! I have a good life. I have many many blessings and opportunities - the list is endless.
