Last Thursday Randy came home for a few days. I don't know how this happens, but everything is a million times better when we are together. Life just seems more real. I loved having my best friend around. We spent a lot of time driving and it gave us a lot of opportunities just to talk. Talking on the phone is never as meaningful as talking face to face.
Thursday we spent getting things done around the house- mowing the lawn, grocery shopping, making dinner, and just spent time together.
I didn't go to work Friday. We bought Winter a harness and completed a few other errands. She gets really mad when everyone else is outside. She sits on the couch by the window, tries to climb up the window and just cries and cries. Then she heads over to the door and tries to open it. So she got a harness. I don't trust her to be outside by herself. There are too many other cats and dogs running loose around the park and I don't want her to get hurt or lost.

That night we went to the Brass Lantern in Genesee Idaho for some steak with Shannon, Cindy, Lorraine, and a few other people from WADDL.
The next morning we got up early to head to the Farmer's Market in Moscow. There were more potted plants then ready to eat fruits and veggies. We did enjoy some mini donuts and we bought a basil plant (it smells amazing). Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. Afterwards we headed to Shannon's place to help load the trailer. She has graduated and is headed on to bigger and better things! After a quick cleanup we drove up to Spokane for the rest of the day. We went to Randy's parents' place to help unload some of things in the trailer. I got to help Cindy get ready for a murder mystery dinner. They went as Colonel Mustard and a Fortune Teller.
Randy and I then went out for dinner to one of our all time favorites- Red Robin. Later we met up with our friends Natalie and Brandon for dessert (a huge freshly baked chocolate chip cookie covered in vanilla ice cream). It was great to catch up with them as we haven't seen them since January. We are trying to plan a camping trip or barbecue with them later this summer. I really hope this works out! Randy and I haven't ever been camping together.
Sunday was pretty busy. After a waffles for breakfast, Randy left for church for meetings. He is now the Elders Quorum President. He is doing a great job even though he is so far away. I also went a bit early to church to practice a song. Four of us sang 'Nearer Dear Savior to Thee' a cappella in Sacrament Meeting. I really like singing with all four parts, songs just sound much richer and fuller with all the notes being sung. I taught the 3 year olds. I forget how honest and genuine little ones are. I was given a new calling, I won't be teaching Relief Society any more but will be serving in the Primary Presidency. I haven't served in this kind of calling before, so I have a lot learn, but it should be a lot of fun. The other ladies are fantastic and kids are just fun.
Today, Randy and I drove back up to Spokane for his doctors appointment and everything looks good. We are blessed to have Randy's diabetes so well controlled and to have a doctor that really cares and is realistic in his expectations. We got home had a quick lunch then Randy had to hit the road. He has an eight hour drive to make and work starts early tomorrow morning.
I am so grateful to have spent a few days with the love of my life! I am one lucky girl to be married to this incredible man!
